Fall is not just about the beauty of the turning leaves, Seattle has magnificent evergreen trees and I am particularly taken with this giant conifer tree on our pavement. The Western Red Cedar is native to the Pacific Northwest and can live up to 1000 years. Also on our pavement is a rather hostile holly with its spikey leaves which are tricky to rake and pick up!
